Overhyped product preview

Overhyped helps founders and marketers understand what search engines and AI answer systems see when they visit a website. Paste in a URL and it runs a practical audit across the signals that influence discoverability, then explains what to fix in plain English.

What it checks

The audit covers 33 detailed checks across the areas that matter most for search visibility:

  • Indexability — crawlability, robots.txt, sitemaps, canonical URLs, and index status
  • Metadata and content — titles, descriptions, headings, language, structure, and readability
  • Images and links — alt text, responsive sizing, formats, broken links, redirects, and anchor text
  • Social previews — Open Graph tags, X cards, share images, and a dedicated link-preview tool
  • Structured data — schema validity, rich-result eligibility, and missing markup
  • AI visibility — answer clarity, question coverage, entity identity, and accessible page text
  • Performance and security — Core Web Vitals, HTTPS, mixed content, and mobile basics
  • Trust and evidence — authors, sources, freshness, claims, and consistent identity signals

From checklist to action plan

The goal is not to dump a wall of technical warnings on the user. Overhyped groups results into passed checks, issues, and critical problems, then gives each finding a clear explanation and a specific fix. The report also prioritizes the next moves so users know what to work on first.

There is no signup. Enter a website URL, run the audit, and get a report that is useful to both technical and non-technical teams.

How I built it

Overhyped is a React application built with Vite and deployed on Vercel. The interface is designed around a simple URL-first flow, with the audit report progressively revealing the details behind each finding while keeping the overall health of the site easy to scan.
